About Us

Safety training that looks like the place you actually work.

We started BLCK UNICRN because safety training had become a checkbox — and the people it's supposed to protect could tell.

Why we exist

Walk any plant floor and ask about the annual safety training. You'll hear the same thing: a video of a factory that isn't theirs, equipment they've never touched, a quiz they've memorized. Completion rates look great. Then the incident report reads the same as last year's — because most incidents aren't knowledge failures. They're human-factors failures: people who knew the rule and, in the moment that mattered, didn't apply it.

The fix has been known for decades — practice the decision, on your own equipment, before it's real. Airlines do it. Mine rescue teams do it. But building that kind of training for one facility used to cost $30,000–50,000 and take months. So almost nobody got it.

What changed

AI collapsed the cost of custom. So we built the thing that was always supposed to exist: send a photo of your floor, get an interactive safety scenario set in that exact place.

Your equipment, your layout, your procedures. Personalized to each worker's role, language, and experience level — a new hire and a twenty-year technician get different versions, and a Spanish-speaking operator gets a real localization, not a subtitle track. It runs in a browser. There are no headsets, no new systems, and nothing for IT to review.

Our anchor deployment with Trane Technologies hit 89% completion and 3.4× retention versus their previous video training — with zero disruption to operations.

What we believe

Who we are

We're operators and builders. Our team has built go-to-market and operations systems at companies like Samsara, Oracle, and Rippling — including years spent close to physical operations, where we watched safety spend grow while the training itself stayed frozen in the DVD era. BLCK UNICRN is what we built when the technology finally caught up to the problem.

See it on your own floor

The best introduction is your own facility.

Send one photo of a work area. We'll build a custom safety scenario from it and send it back within 48 hours — free. That tells you more about us than any about page can.
